@BBCRadioScot I was a mathematics teacher 30 years ago and left because of discipline problems. Things have got worse since then because of 43% ASN pupils, full inclusion of all pupils, fewer sanctions, pupils' access to internet & mobile phones etc.
This is above party politics - it's a matter of trust and integrity in public life.
That's why we need a parliamentary inquiry.

@murdo_fraser Is there a party whip on this ? I would have thought some Green and SNP MSPs would want an inquiry to clear the air and have a fresh start without the Salmond/Sturgeon baggage that is hindering independence at the moment.
THREAD 🧵1/10
In June 2021 I published research on the SNP's missing ring-fenced indyref funds. Cherry, Chapman, and three finance committee members resigned citing obstruction. The media largely looked away.On 26 May, Murrell pleaded guilty to twelve years of embezzlement. The guilty plea isn't the reckoning. It's the moment the reckoning becomes unavoidable.

🧵Things I now believe to be true.
Scotland has not just watched a party finance scandal. It has watched the state, the party machine and the prosecution system close ranks in real time.
The public were expected to notice nothing.
Unfortunately for them, we did.
@ScotNational It is not the internal workings of the SNP that people are interested in , it is the internal workings of the Scottish courts and justice system.
So many people asking why Murrell gave the SNP a loan when he was stealing from it.
It's rather obvious isn't it?
The party was on the brink of being unable to pay it's bills which would have resulted in a massive inquiry into the books.
So he gave the loan to cover himself.
Sturgeon gave a "no comment" police interview, and later had legal assistance for her BBC interview. However under her Scottish mental health act you can be detained, drugged and beaten for 28 days based on your interview alone with a psychiatrist before you can appeal. Unjust.
@jackiebmsp Change the culture so that a "no comment" reply to police by the accused is treated as officially negative by the law and not officially neutral.
@joannaccherry If Murrell stole £400k, who is responsible for the £2.2m police investigation costs ? This should be paid for by the people that delayed the process by time wasting and blocking scrutiny.
@murdo_fraser The Premier League should not be rerun as Shankland has transferred to Rangers. The election should be rerun as we didn't have knowledge of the Murrell admission which has had a material effect on SNP voting. The list votes need new rules too as many SNP voters voted Green.
