@bbctms I went to my first ever Test Match at Headingley in 1981. We watched all five days and stayed in the same B&B as the umpires. It’s impossible to imagine either scenario today. The cost of staging Test matches has spiralled with a single day’s cricket far beyond so many.

First heard #SteveWright on Radio Luxembourg. It was clear he was something special. Remember a name check when he was doing Saturday nights, but nothing could beat his Radio 1 afternoon show. He was the successor to Kenny Everett and without doubt one of the great broadcasters.
