The solution leverages our digital infrastructure, including the @WendiWallet and Pearl Bank Prepaid Fuel Card, to provide secure, flexible and real-time fuel payments. Beneficiaries will access services through mobile, USSD or prepaid cards, while government entities manage allocations through a secure maker-checker portal.

This partnership reflects our commitment to improving public-sector efficiency, strengthening financial accountability and delivering digital solutions that support national development.

Today, I was delighted to launch a link through which funds are being raised towards the establishment of Uganda’s first bone marrow transplant centre.

Sickle cell disease has long challenged our communities. For years it was misunderstood many believed it to be a curse, leading some to resort to witchcraft that could not offer real solutions. Today, we know better. Science has provided answers, and with advancements such as bone marrow transplantation, lives can be saved and restored.

I commend the Rotary Club of Kampala Springs, the Joint Clinical Research Centre, and Pearl Bank for this initiative. While awareness has been raised, more effort is needed to realize this life-saving project.

We must prioritize health, for no society can prosper without it. I call upon everyone to support this cause.
