#VForVendetta I’m happy they never showed the face for V because it really wasn’t about the character but about the ideas. Odd mix of a love, action, and cultural film. 6/10

#NausicaaOfTheValleyOfTheWind Studio Ghibli is great and this was one of the first films I watched of theirs when I was little. Still love it but I think I’ve grown past it a bit. Some stuff just doesn’t click as well. 6/10

#MoonriseKingdom Though it is a small island off the coast, the world that Wes Anderson builds is full of everything. He is able to make it seem like this small space is all there ever is or will be in the world and it feels right. It feels full. 9/10

#LeonTheProfessional Leon constantly teetered on the edge of morally right or morally wrong. Bad things happen to good people but is it right for good people to do bad things for the right reasons? This film says yes. 7/10

#NorthByNorthwest This was for class but definitely opened my eyes to see what films used to be like. I think it was more impressive to see the change in directing style and cinematography nowadays. Plot was overall predictable which also shows how narratives evolved. 6/10

#TheGreatDictator Charlie Chaplin is an absolute legend and the background in which when he created this film just shows how forward thinking he is. The greatest speech is timeless. First half was kind of slow though. 9/10

#TheSearchers Never really understood westerns but the ending scene of this movie makes up its entire score. I had to get someone to explain it to me but once I got it, the movie made so much more thematic sense. 5/10

#NationalTreasure2 At least it was somewhat enjoyable. There were a lot of other solutions to the flooding room so the guy did not have to make a hero’s sacrifice. I don’t believe sacrificing yourself automatically makes you a hero as well. 1/10

#NationalTreasure Nick Cage is a National Treasure but other than that, I have suspend a lot of disbelief just to even understand the characters. 2/10

#ChildrenofMen The film shows how meaningless society is if there is no guarantee for the future. Not in the sense of individualism but collectivism. Lot of symbolism throughout but I think the message that society is based on the future is what matters. 8/10

#BlacKkKlansman A lot of thematic stuff going on, but at the surface level, a great story told with Kylie Ren rocking the role. Not sure if I can rewatch just because the cliffhanger feeling was the major driver of interest. 7/10

#BeingJohnMalkovich What an awesome idea and so much fun to watch. The ending was not something I expected but I wish they explained a bit more about the host concept. I’d also choose John Malkovich as a host. But it didn’t nail it because of the lack of explanation. 7/10

#AmericanBeauty Kind of a messed up concept but it works. Makes you wonder what’s going to kick your life into gear. He lives such a mundane and boring life, finds his bliss (even though it’s messed up), and least dies happy. 6/10

#28WeeksLater Every decision the character made throughout this movie made me wonder who wrote this? Realistically, if a zombie apocalypse broke out, none of that stuff that went down would ever happen. It just doesn’t make sense. But zombie nightmare fuel. 3/10

#12AngryMen Finally got around to watching this and it was anger inducing the entire time. It’s amazing the feeling of anger that this can evoke with just a room and 12 great actors. 8/10
