This is nothing to be proud of..Today (May 21st) is our second wedding anniversary..still living in separate countries. How is this process..let’s run the country down so much that nobody will want to come..Those British citizens that have foreign partners..let’s treat them like traitors..
Meanwhile⬇️
This is what we are having to deal with.
It’s inhumane…No one is talking about it…using British citizens married to foreigners to get immigration numbers down.
I’m a British citizen and the U.K. government won’t let my foreign wife live with me in the U.K.
I own my own house outright, (no rent no mortgage) I’m self employed, my wife is a university graduate, artist, illustrator that speaks three languages. They say we may be a risk to the welfare system because I don’t earn a skilled worker’s salary. Imagine how this feels, my wife can’t live here because I dont earn a figure that my government plucked from the sky! We are paying £500+ to rent an apartment in Turkey for my wife, plus utilities ect. Money that could stay in the U.K. (Anna’s home country is Russia but left when Russia invaded Ukraine)
I keep getting told go and live in your wife’s country…problem solved!
Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. advises against all travel to Russia due to the risks and threats from its continuing invasion of Ukraine, including:
security incidents, such as drone attacks, and Russian air defence activity
lack of flights to return to the UK
limited ability for the UK government to provide support
I would not be entitled to benefits and nor would my wife so what’s the risk?
I can not reinvest in by business because I have to show 29k profit, so the business suffers.
My wife can’t visit the U.K. on a tourist visa because the U.K. government feels Anna may overstay her visa! The only way is for me to visit Anna. When I’m not working I’m not earning, so how do I get to the 29k.
To live with my wife I will have to sell up and leave the U.K. This is how the U.K. government discriminates against its own citizens. It’s called MIR. As for the astronomical visa fees, which the government can not answer how they came up with such a figure, nor can they say what it’s spent on. Family visa for being married to a British citizen £1846. (The money left over from the processing of the visa should be refunded) in retail or trade keeping the money and not been able to give a detailed receipt would be illegal and trading standards would be involved.
For example to issue a Schengen visa fee to visit 29 countries €90….make that make sense.

@CPhilpOfficial This is nothing to be proud of. How the U.K. government treats British citizens married to foreigners is inhumane. You treat us like we committed treason. This week we have paid out over £7,000 to the U.K. government migration business.
Today is our second wedding anniversary, to celebrate this day Anna is on the way to do her biometrics at the visa centre in Izmir Turkey, I’m in the U.K. trying to get in as much work as possible..it’s been a tough few years but we are finally getting somewhere, We may be skint and a little broken but one day we will be living in the same country. Happy anniversary Anna sorry about all the bs that being married to a Brit brings..xx
Thank you to our bridesmaid Kirpi, Thank you to everyone for all the support. Thank you to those that gave to our “buy me a coffee” And most of all Anna for putting up with me. ❤️ #wedding #anniversary #cotton

Is this really something to be proud of? The U.K. government treats British citizens married to foreigners as if we are traitors. This week alone we have paid £7,000 in visa related expenses. Married two years today (21st May) still living in separate countries, Anna is living on tourist visas in Turkey..

My wife isn’t Turkish. Well yes we would have started a family a lot sooner but we first got separated by the Covid pandemic and the day all the restrictions were lifted was the same day Russia invaded Ukraine so Anna left to Turkey and has been there ever since. We can’t settle in Turkey as Anna is on short term tourist visas not a citizen. Anna works she is an artist illustrator and also teaches English. The U.K. visa rules state that because Anna is outside of the U.K. we can’t add our incomes together.
@Nightingale26@KemiBadenoch No it’s to do with what I earn as a British citizen I’m classed as a sponsor. Nothing to do with what Anna earns because she is outside the U.K.
