We have a growing problem of anti Catholic bigotry in this country. The referenda on the 8th and marriage equality seem to have unleashed something deeply nasty. I voted in favour of both but I don’t see the other side as anything other than people with a different opinion. Conservative public reps are openly derided and bullied in the Seanad. If other religions were treated like this there would be outcry. It shames us.
