These gurus posting 50% months aren't just lying to you
They're actively ruining your trading
Because you see that and think that's the benchmark
So you overtrade, overleverage, and blow account after account trying to hit numbers that even THEY aren't hitting consistently
The blind leading the blind
Never quit trading
It took me 2 years of hard work to become consistently profitable
Since then I have made $2,000,000 from trading and have a skill that will pay me for the rest of my life
Imagine if I had quit during those 2 years
I would’ve walked away with 0 and would probably be working a job that I hate
All it takes is a few years of effort and then you can be free for life
The grind is worth it - don’t give up
When I was learning how to trade, I was part of a big trading Discord.
There was a guy in the Discord everyone respected.
First to post charts.
First to mark levels.
First to explain why price should move.
If someone asked a question, he had the answer.
Honestly, if you judged trading ability by analysis alone, he was the best trader in the room.
But here’s the part no one knew:
He never made money.
I found out after talking to him privately.
While everyone assumed he was funded, he was still blowing challenges.
Same pattern every time.
Perfect analysis → no entry.
Missed move → late chase.
Late chase → emotional stop.
Or even worse:
Perfect setup → smaller size “just in case.”
Mediocre setup → full risk because it “felt good.”
On the chart, he was surgical.
In execution, he hesitated.
He wanted certainty before clicking buy or sell.
And certainty doesn’t exist in trading.
The market doesn’t pay you for being right.
It pays you for acting under uncertainty with controlled risk.
Eventually he admitted it:
“I’m scared to be wrong.”
That fear kept him safe emotionally - but broke him financially.
Some of the “worst” traders I know make money.
Some of the smartest never do.
Because trading isn’t about who understands the market best.
It’s about who can execute a simple idea the same way over and over again.
Aiming for 5R trades is just dumb
I’m sorry, but aiming for 1-2R trades makes more sense for 90% of traders
Your win-rate is higher, drawdowns are lower which means more consistent payouts and you’re less likely to breach funded accounts
Lower RR for the win
I have $2M in total prop firm payouts
Including $200k+ in Futures payouts (started trading futures less than a year ago)
Comment ‘futures’ and I’ll DM you the A-Z guide on how I approach Futures evals to scale my capital for FREE
(must be following)
I met a trader in Dubai who was doing $80k/month in prop firm payouts.
He showed me his stats.
71% win rate.
Average RR: 0.8R to 1.2R.
I asked him why such low risk-reward.
'Bro, I tried the 1:3RR+ thing for 2 years. Blew 40+ accounts. My win rate was 25%. I'd have 8-10 losing trades in a row and couldn't handle it mentally.'
'Then I switched to taking quick profits. 1:1 mostly. Sometimes less if price shows weakness.'
'My win rate jumped to 70%+.'
He was running $2.8M in combined funding across 8 accounts.
Some months he'd make 1%. Some months 5%.
But he was consistent.
And the psychology was easier.
Winning 7 out of 10 trades feels completely different than winning 3 out of 10.
Even if the math says they're equal.
Your brain doesn't care about math during a 12-trade losing streak.
He told me:
'I don't need to be right about where price is going long-term. I just need to be right about the next 10-15 pips. That's it.'
Most traders are chasing these huge runners because someone on YouTube told them that's what 'real traders' do.
Meanwhile this guy is taking home $80k/month with 0.8-1.2R trades.
You don't need massive risk-reward to make serious money.
You need capital + consistency + a win rate you can actually maintain.
Low RR with high win rate will always beat high RR with low win rate when it comes to prop firm payouts.
Getting funded a large amount of capital is the best thing that can happen for you
Once you get funded $200-500k - you realise that you don’t need a lot of trades to make good money
Trading with small capital like a $10k prop firm account can make you force more trades since you need a high % per month to make any decent amount of money
But once your funding reaches $100,000s you can then all you need is 2-3% a month to make good money
Getting to that stage is the hard part, but once you’re at it this game becomes a lot easier
Make money from trading
Invest payouts into stocks, real estate and other businesses
Become financially free
Travel the world
Spend more time with family and friends
Build a family
Pass on your knowledge and wealth to your kids
This is the way
It’s never too late to get into trading
I know a guy who started trading at 37 with a wife and kids
By the time he was 41 he was a full time trader making $100,000s a year when his previous salary was $45k/year
Don’t get disheartened when you see the young guys making a ton of money trading
It’s not too late for you either
