My heartfelt and most sincere kudos to Poland and the Polish people. We just made it to Przemysl and I am in awe of the entire city. We got in just after midnight and it seemed everyone was up, working to welcome and help thousands of Ukrainian refugees fleeing their homeland.

The situation when we crossed the border last night was dangerous and tense, to say the least. We endured several fights between various groups of people, all of whom were tired, scared, cold and hungry, and had been, like us, standing for more than 25 hours straight.

I am now out of Ukraine. I went through the border crossing in the country’s west and I can say first hand that, as a result, I am very concerned by Ukraine’s ability to handle the looming refugee crisis that is headed it’s way.
