@Pkilla701@MBuffington@BobbyMarks42@KeithSmithNBA I’m no cap expert though haha but that’s just my understanding of how that bonus works. Probably a small detail in the grand scheme of things but it does matter for the Celtics right now that he waived it since they’ve clearly been ducking the tax
@Pkilla701@MBuffington@BobbyMarks42@KeithSmithNBA Yep, but I actually think it’s the new team that is on the hook for paying the bonus.
So hypothetically if Celts put PG on the trade block PG could say “I prefer team X and will waive bonus for them, but if it’s team B,C, or D you guys gotta pay it and take that extra cap hit”
@Pkilla701@MBuffington@BobbyMarks42@KeithSmithNBA Trade bonuses can only be used once over the life of that players contract. So it’s also leverage PG now has if the Celtics try to trade him somewhere he doesn’t want to go. He can just say “ok well I’m taking that $4M bonus this time”
Maybe a signal he wants to stay in BOS too
OH NO THE BLAZERS CANT ATTRACT CORPORATE SPONSORSHIPS? OH man I had no idea! WE MUST RALLY TO GET THE BLAZERS MORE SPONSORSHIPS!
Stop. Caping . For. Billionaires. Squeezing. Normal. Folks. They don’t give a FUCK ABOUT YOU.
I am not trying to pour salt in the wound, but the Kings provided the Knicks with their Finals coach, the Spurs with their second star, after providing the Pacers with their Finals star last year after providing the Nuggets with their Finals coach in 23.
Really can’t express how big of a loss it is to all Blazers fans to lose @CHold. One of the only through lines from the B-Roy years to now. To lose that is to lose a piece of the franchise. His coverage, insight and humor will be missed greatly.
My biggest criticism of Dundon from the beginning, which he admitted to on the podcast the other day, is that he does not get the ways in which the NBA doesn't work like the NHL and the things you have to pay for there. Today is certainly an example of that.
life can be so cruel.
it’s profound how humans have the ability to feel connected to strangers through the joy of shared memories. thank you for all of the beautiful memories, brandon. memphis will never forget you.
Wolves attacked the paint against the worst rim protector in the playoffs last series and are attacking it against the league’s best rim protector tonight. Didn’t switch up shit. Wemby set the playoff record for blocks tonight and MIN is still unwavered. I respect it immensely.
Folks, when I say drastic, I’m not talking about around the edges. This would
be the type of series loss that causes teams to blow everything up and start over.
The cost-cutting measures of the Blazers' new ownership have been the talk of the league for the past couple of weeks. Good reporting in here from @highkin. And a wild detail uncovered about their two-way guys.
