Sleep had the highest correlation on my pnl of any factor in my control!
I know many are rolling their eyes, but I promise you it’ll change your trading and your life like it did for Swang when we worked on reprogramming his sleep habits last year. Once we fixed him he said he couldn’t believe how he used to function & how much it affected his trading.
Too many traders I meet w are getting < 6.5hrs sleep each night.
I promise your learning, decision-making, & emotions are impaired. No, you aren’t an exception!
The deadly sins I see traders make, especially given the young demographic:
-Alcohol during the week.
-Social jet lag (staying up to 2-3am on weekends)
-Inconsistent sleep / wake schedule.
-No sunlight / enough physical activity each day.
-Constantly checking the markets before bed / upon waking!
Improving sleep is part of the hard work that most people avoid in favor of Netflix at night.
