UMass' latest NCAA financial disclosures show America’s most heavily subsidized public FBS program becoming even less self-sustaining.

According to its latest NCAA financial disclosures, UMass reported $60.2 million of its total budget coming from student fees ($11 million), direct institutional support ($37.3 million) and indirect institutional support ($11.9 million). UMass subsidized 80% of its athletics costs in the previous fiscal year, which was the highest number in all of FBS.
