Also, shout out to @Andrew_Namanny. He landed the interview and did it well.
Getting a billonaire to reveal it all is hard.
@ShaanVP Seems tough. Daina and Justin Trout founded Health-Ade kombucha together. It worked as they ended up doing $100M+ annually and sold for bucket loads. She broke down her theory for why it worked on this pod: https://t.co/EbgQ2qHut8
I found a patch jacket I liked. But I wanted it to be more personal and not $1500.
So I found a jacket in NYC with my sis and started collecting patches from my dad’s 35 year old Navy uniforms, flea markets in LA, eBay.
Kate from the Rose Bowl Flea Market was kind enough to teach me how to hand sew. First patch took 3 hours so I figured I could be done in 30 days (Christmas).
Then I discovered the power of a sewing machine while visiting my best friend Court’s fam.
At 11pm Sunday night, the last patch went on. But it was crooked.
It says “Are You Ok?”
I eventually accepted it’s a pointed reflection of our imperfect and fun lives. Crooked it stays.
P.S. now I see why they’re $1500.
I’m obsessed with interesting people, places, and interviews.
For a decade, I’ve gone hunting for them.
I’ve struck luck along the way and stumbled into some wild people and places.
I’m compiling and sharing in my newsletter, Andrew’s Almanac.

Stories and lessons from the world’s best leaders.
Ok this is cool:
We just published our first Moneywise ep with a billionaire.
Meaning...they show all their monthly spending, portfolio, everything.
This guy has a $30b+ public co. Worth $3b. Has $50m liquid, the rest in his company.
Such a good one.
@DanTldr, the founder and CEO of TLDR, most valuable advice: “cut twice, measure once.”
Dan built a newsletter to 5M subscribers ($10M+ annual revenue), started + sold a software company (Scraper API), and went from Yale to culinary school.
He shared his story and lessons during our recent convo on Permission to Shine.
I love to see great people winning.

Dr. Sanjiv Chopra, Harvard Dean, gave 5 specific steps to finding your purpose in life.
1. Get 30 3x5 index cards
2. For the next 30 days, write down 3-5 things you did today.
3. Then assign each activity a grade 1-10. 1 if you were miserable, 10 if you were in total bliss.
4. Examine the 30 cards once complete (after day 30), cross off any in the 1-5 grading system.
5. Examine the 6-10’s. Your purpose is lurking in there!
Comment IN if you are committed to finding your purpose with me starting August 1st.
I’ll be sharing your progress updates throughout the month so tag Permission to Shine.
Tony Robbins has a 90 second rule.
Whenever something upsets him, he allows 90 seconds of being angry/sad.
Then, he flips the switch and forces himself to move past it.
Happiness really is a choice after all.
