Very honored to speak on behalf of YPD's Tom Nadoraski who recently retired, had a decorated career & was YHS SRO from 2008-2010. Tom was skilled, professional & an incredible role model for our students. Thank U Chief Noble for the invite/opportunity.🌽#Husker4Life@YorktownCSD
Today on the Assembly floor, I had the honor of recognizing the life of Sheridan Gorman—a proud Yorktown native whose kindness, leadership and spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
Sheridan was an athlete, a mentor and a friend who gave back to her community and brought people together. At just 18 years old, her life was taken far too soon, leaving our entire community heartbroken.
Yorktown has come together in grief, prayer and support for her family. We stand with them today and always. May her memory be a blessing.
Today, we were honored to make Jake Arcara’s highway designation official, especially standing alongside Jake’s mother, Kelly. This memorial assures Jake will always be a part of our Yorktown community, and his name will caution every driver to slow down and stay alert to protect the men and women working on our roads.
Work-zone tragedies are preventable, and it’s clear that stronger safety laws are urgently needed. Thank you to @SenatorHarckham for partnering with me to honor Jake and advance the work-zone safety measures our highway crews deserve.
Today was an end of an era for my dad who retired from Yorktown schools after 40 years/4 decades of service. Well deserved and well earned retirement. I want to wish my dad a happy retirement and best of luck to your next chapter.
I proudly honor John “Jackie” Sullivan, a Navy veteran, FDNY EMS Deputy Chief, and dedicated volunteer firefighter. Jack spent his life serving others: 12 years in the Navy, 31 years as a paramedic, and over 30 years as a volunteer firefighter. On 9/11, he ran toward danger, survived the collapse, and spent a year at Ground Zero aiding recovery. He was a hero in every sense. To his wife Denise, daughters Katie and Maggie, and all who loved him, our hearts are with you. May his memory be a blessing.
At this evenings bored of ed meeting my dad was recognized of his service to YCSD he has 40 years of service in the district and he is heading into retirement at the end of July he will be hanging up his badge. End of an era coming soon
We thank and honor the emergency medical services professionals who are always ready to answer the call, providing life-saving care and support when we need it most.
