Should be done more often with college RPs.
Only three starting slots on the weekend; players who contribute early to good teams end up in trusted roles in the bullpen where the coach has trouble moving them out of it the next year.
(insert Carson Spiers reference here)
@JDelongchamps Trackman has a static zone. As far as I’m aware: a guy with a 6’7” standing height vs a 5’8” standing height have the same trackman-defined zone. So this doesn’t work unless trackman plans to make a change or stadiums install a more expensive Hawkeye system.
@JacobRudner Also the strike zone dimensions for the SEC tourney were not based on any logical conclusions. Just using random expansions to the MLB strike zone to fit the college mold, which with ABS, might enforce some bad habits with hitters developing feel for the zone at the next level
@JacobRudner Feel like a massive issue that’s gonna happen here with trackman having a static zone.
I know the SEC tourney used Hawkeye, but many conferences won’t be able to afford making that change for all the teams. Feels like a change just for the SEC and to appease their fans
How in the fuck does Rob Manfred not know how to pronounce the first round, first overall pick’s name? What are we doing here? Biggest moment of the kid’s life and you don’t know how to pronounce the one-one??
@NoahB77_ My opinion of it will change depending on where he transfers, but imo it’s gotta be a playing time scenario for why he went to Oregon. Maybe he went to Oregon with a promise of starting out of the gate, then bc he’s proven he can, he has another school in mind
