Born on March 31, 1987, I came into this world a fighter. My story wasn't written on a blank page—it was outlined in the indelible ink of a military family. Their service wasn't just history; it was the air I breathed, the creed I inherited, the very blood in my veins.
A warrior born into a lineage of warriors, my first mission was one I never saw coming. A prognosis became my enemy, a diagnosis my first battle. Born with cerebral palsy, doctors said I wouldn't make it past ten. They suggested a nursing home. My grandparents had other plans. While other kids were learning to ride bikes, I was learning to adapt and overcome. The creed wasn't just something I heard—it was something I lived every single day. My first tour of duty fought not on foreign soil, but within the confines of my own body.
That warrior spirit demanded an outlet. I found it in the discipline and structure of JROTC, rising to the rank of 1st Lieutenant. I carried that same sense of duty to the base hospital, helping wounded warriors—men and women who returned from battles I was denied. In serving them, I found my purpose. A calling that resonated in the wake of 9/11, only to be stopped by an "instant 4F" classification. The uniform I was meant to wear would never be mine, but the spirit of the Corps was already etched on my soul.
In college, I met @CTtheMicSlayer . She wasn't just a girl—she became my best friend, my anchor. When I was at my lowest, contemplating an end, she pulled me back. She saved my life. When she faced her own dark moments, I became her rock. A bond forged in mutual salvation. Twenty years later, she's still the reason I'm here.
My journey has been marked by profound loss—a godfather, best friends taken too soon. I carry their memory not as a weight, but as fuel. They became the reason I keep fighting.
This is the story I pour into my music. My debut album "My Country Life" is the foundation—country storytelling and defiant gospel hope. My second album "The Real Me" is the evolution—hip hop, R&B, and rap. Two identities. One fight.
I am a living testament that the strongest spirit isn't the one that never falls, but the one that chooses to rise again and again. A warrior who may never have seen the deserts of Iraq or the mountains of Afghanistan, but has fought a war every single day of my life. The embodiment of Semper Fi—Always Faithful—to the code, to the ones I love, and to the man I chose to become.
Still trying to wrap my head around this. 🤯
