I described the sole aim of the extremist, anti-Israel flotilla activists: provocation at the service of Hamas. Just look at the what they did afterwards in Spain, Greece and Austria.
Israel will continue to act in full accordance with international law and will not permit any breach of the lawful naval blockade on Gaza.

I also highlighted the horrific antisemitic wave in Canada - an average of 19 incidents a day. The Canadian government must take steps against antisemitic incitement and attacks.

🚨 EVER HEARD OF THE “BLACKSTONE MEMORIAL”?
Most people have not.

In 1891, decades before the Balfour Declaration, decades before the Holocaust, and more than half a century before the founding of modern Israel, hundreds of prominent Americans signed a petition calling for the Jewish people to be restored to their ancestral homeland.

It was called the Blackstone Memorial.

The petition was written by William Eugene Blackstone and presented to U.S. President Benjamin Harrison and Secretary of State James G. Blaine.

Its central argument was simple:

Millions of Jews were facing persecution in Russia. Europe did not want them. America could not absorb them all quickly. So the question was asked:

Why not restore the Jewish people to their ancient homeland?

The memorial pointed out that the international powers had already helped restore other peoples to their historic lands. Bulgaria to the Bulgarians. Serbia to the Serbians. Greece to the Greeks.

So why not Palestine to the Jews?

The petition argued that the Jewish people had been expelled from their land by force, had never stopped longing to return, and that restoring Jewish autonomy there would be both just and humanitarian.

And this was not some fringe document.

It was signed by leading American politicians, newspaper editors, clergy, rabbis, judges, bankers, businessmen, and public figures.

Among the names were future President William McKinley, J.P. Morgan, John D. Rockefeller, Chief Justice Melville Fuller, and hundreds of others.

Think about that.

In 1891, major American voices were already publicly saying that the Jewish people had a legitimate historic claim to their homeland.

This was not invented in 1948.

It was not created by the Holocaust.

It was not some colonial project suddenly dropped into the Middle East.

The idea that the Jewish people belonged in their ancestral homeland was recognized by major American figures generations before the State of Israel was reborn.

The Blackstone Memorial is a reminder that Jewish restoration was not a modern propaganda slogan.

It was an old moral, historical, and political argument.

And America knew it long before the world pretended to forget.

On This Day — May 18, 1967

18 days before the Six Day War, Arab leaders openly broadcast their planned extermination of Israel.

Egypt’s official Voice of the Arabs declared:

“The sole method we shall apply against Israel is total war, which will result in the extermination of Zionist existence."

Two days later, with Syrian troops already massed on Israel’s border, Defense Minister Hafez al-Assad declared:

“I, as a military man, believe that the time has come to enter into a battle of annihilation.”

Cairo Radio the next day:

“This is our chance, Arabs, to deal Israel a mortal blow of annihilation, to blot out its entire presence in our holy land.”

Extermination. Annihilation. Annihilation again.

They said it loudly, proudly, and repeatedly on state radio — a little more than two weeks before the war. Not hidden plans. Not vague threats. Explicit genocidal intent, 22 years after the Holocaust.

Yet to this day, people still blame Israel for starting the war.

The truth: Israel faced imminent annihilation from a Soviet-backed Arab alliance that had mobilized hundreds of thousands of troops, closed the Straits of Tiran, and expelled UN peacekeepers. Under customary international law, a preemptive strike against an imminent existential threat is not only justified — it is legal.

Israel struck first only against Egypt, the ringleader. It begged Jordan’s King Hussein to stay out of the fighting. Hussein ignored the plea, joined the war, and lost the "West Bank" and Old City of Jerusalem in the process.

Israel didn’t want that war.
It simply refused to die in it.

While the world did nothing, Israel acted alone — and in six days destroyed the genocidal threat to its existence.

They didn’t flee because of “Zionist ethnic cleansing.”
They fled because Arab leaders ordered them to get out of the way so their armies could “drive the Jews into the sea.”

Then they lost the war they started — and spent the next 77 years rewriting history to blame the Jews.
