@bjakovina@sidseixeiroshow@Sid_Seixeiro Yeah, Marchenko - a beast. Not at all like that softie Knies - lol. Typical Leafs - give away what you need to get what you already have. Marchenko might as well wear Marner's number - cuz that's what you just traded for.
Teneycke: "The overlap between Alberta separatists and Albertans who want to join the US is pretty fucking high. And that's a problem. And the fact that [Danielle Smith] cares about that to the degree she does is a problem."
Real nice moment at draft. Cameras caught a fan in crowd with a clipboard, charting the picks.
@NHLMedia crew brought him on set. Great to recognize devoted fans like this

So far, Vance’s foreign policy record is yelling at Zelensky for not thanking Trump enough, campaigning for AfD in Germany and Orban in Hungary, getting rejected by the Pope on his invite to the US, and failing in the Iran negotiations.
Try not to choke on all that "kool-aid" you've been drinking there Rob..... There's only one person claiming that to be true - nobody else anywhere in the world is claiming that to be factual. In fact, others are claiming the exact opposite to be true. But you keep chugging...
@acoyne You mean the feckless cowards who's countries were saved when Trump prevented Iran from getting nuclear weapons. Considering they have ballistic missiles that can hit England and enough nuclear material to make 20+ nuclear bombs I think those idiots should be thanking him!
Parayko uses his negotiated no trade and people kick a fuss up. The real issue as I see it was why was the trade public in the 1st place until signed off? Who leaks this? Not player, not agent .. no benefit. Cheesy of teams to back door pressure the player that they gave no trade to. If that's where the info came from
@acoyne If Alberta decides to leave, the rest of Canada does not have the means to force it to remain. Likely not what you want to hear, but it is what it is.
"If the Maple Leafs want Luke Schenn, they can get him for a lower end draft pick."
@DarrenDreger on Schenn's possible fit with the Maple Leafs.

Clearly you are referring to the formerly highly respected Board of the Kennedy Center. This decision will confirm that the word respected is no longer appropriate....
I have just been informed that the highly respected Board of the Kennedy Center, some of the most successful people from all parts of the world, have just voted unanimously to rename the Kennedy Center to the Trump-Kennedy Center, because of the unbelievable work President Trump has done over the last year in saving the building. Not only from the standpoint of its reconstruction, but also financially, and its reputation. Congratulations to President Donald J. Trump, and likewise, congratulations to President Kennedy, because this will be a truly great team long into the future! The building will no doubt attain new levels of success and grandeur.
#VPDNews An independent investigation that spanned more than three years and included 36 eyewitnesses has concluded that Vancouver Police were not criminally responsible for the death of a man who went into medical distress following an August 2022 arrest in the Downtown Eastside.
“I recognize the ongoing pain and tremendous loss the family of Chris Amyotte has experienced. On behalf of the Vancouver Police Department, I would like to express our deepest condolences to the family,” says Deputy Chief Constable Howard Chow, who commands VPD’s Investigation Division.
The findings, released today by the Independent Investigations Office, confirm that multiple factors contributed to the 42-year-old man’s death as detailed in the report – but that the actions of police did not inflict any injuries that caused his death.
“These officers followed their training and acted within their legal authorities,” says Deputy Chow. “This three-year investigative process has been difficult for the family of the man who died, and for the officers who have been under investigation. We appreciate the IIO’s diligence in seeking the truth, and we extend our continued condolences to everyone impacted.”
“The months that followed this incident led to speculation and public commentary about how the man died, along with serious allegations against the officers involved,” adds Deputy Chief Chow.
“Out of respect for the IIO’s process, we have been unable to share more facts about the case until now. This process has demonstrated why it’s important to allow a thorough investigation to take place, that provides answers for everyone involved.”

It's shocking that the Press Gallery in Ottawa keeps repeating the Saab 10,000 jobs in Canada if we build the Gripen here line.
How many jobs are there in Brazil where they are building the Gripen with Embraer?
They number in the 10s. Not 10s of thousands.

Bellicose U.S. ambassador Pete Hoekstra is nothing but an antagonising bully who engages with rage, arrogance, coercion and disinformation. He shows absolutely no respect, diplomacy or grace.
He needs to be replaced immediately as he’s not doing either side any favours.
For me this is squarely in the "I don't care" column. That is not a justification to make this deal. If Canada buys the F-35 when there is a viable option available from another actual ally - it is an abject failure of our government to protect us from the threat to the south.
More than 30 Canadian companies supply parts for the F-35. Canadian content is worth $3.2 million per plane, on every plane, not just the ones we buy.
Carney wants to throw this away for false claims of 10,000 jobs from Saab building the Gripen here.

Hoekstra also brought up the 51st state again, unprompted, at an event that was about manufacturing #cdnpoli
“I go around the country and people will say, Pete, you just don't understand why we're so mad about the 51st state. It's kind of like, yeah you're right, I don't. OK?”
