So many people misunderstand prayer because they only measure it by what they get. They think the point is always the blessing, the answer, the open door, the miracle, or the visible result.

But sometimes the greatest answer to prayer is not what God puts in your hands.

Sometimes it is what He takes out of your heart.

That is what makes this cartoon hit so hard. The man was asked what he gained by regularly praying to God, and his answer was simple, “Nothing.” But then he explained what he lost, anger, depression, insecurity, and fear of death.

That is the part people miss.

Prayer does not always change the world around you immediately, but it can absolutely change the world inside you. It can quiet the anger that was eating you alive. It can steady the fear that kept you awake at night. It can humble the pride that made every problem worse. It can replace anxiety with trust, resentment with forgiveness, and despair with hope.

And in a time when so many people are angry, divided, bitter, anxious, and afraid, maybe this is exactly the reminder we need.

The world tells us to chase more, demand more, fight more, and worry more. Faith teaches something very different. It teaches surrender. It teaches peace. It teaches that losing the things that destroy your soul may be the greatest gain of all.
