Honoured to join fellow G7 and G7+ Ministers and Heads of Delegation in Paris for the official welcome ahead of the G7 Digital Ministers’ Meeting.
The discussions ahead present a valuable opportunity to strengthen partnerships and advance global cooperation in digital transformation, AI, innovation, and connectivity. Kenya remains committed to building an inclusive and resilient digital future for all.
We are committed to deepening trade and expanding economic opportunities between Kenya and Kazakhstan for the shared prosperity of our two nations.
To advance this partnership, we shall pursue the establishment of direct flights between Nairobi and Astana to facilitate commerce, and promote greater people-to-people engagements.
We further invite Kazakhstan to take full advantage of the strategic position and capacity of the ports of Mombasa and Lamu as key gateways for entry and trans-shipment into the East and Central African region.
Addressed the Kazakhstan-Kenya Business Forum at the Astana International Financial Centre alongside President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. We advocated stronger business and investment ties between our countries.
Kenya remains committed to strengthening its position as a regional technology and innovation hub through continued investment in digital infrastructure, connectivity, entrepreneurship and policy reforms.
This afternoon, I had the honour of addressing delegates and participants at the Nova Garage Summit , a side event of the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, that aimes to connect 15+ young tech founders (under 35) with investors and policymakers to boost African startups.
The forum which offered an opportunity for founders and emerging enterprises from Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, Egypt, Ghana and across the continent presented practical solutions in digital finance, healthcare, cybersecurity, climate technology, mobility, agriculture and artificial intelligence.
These enterprises are not only creating jobs and unlocking new market opportunities, but are also demonstrating Africa’s growing capacity to develop globally competitive digital solutions that can shape the future of the continent’s digital economy.
In attendance were, French Ambassador for Digital Affairs and (AI), Ms Clara Chappaz; PS for Culture, Arts and Heritage, Ms Ummi Bashir; CEO of Orange Group, Ms Christel Heydemann; Director General, Kenya Development Corporation, Ms Norah Ratemo; CEOs of relevant corporation, representatives from State Department for Science, Research and Innovation among other key players.
