@the27guy@ChrisVernonShow this is the best idea I've seen by far. I can't see anything wrong with it and it creates another fun moment in the NBA: a televised event where each team gets to declare who they think will suck the most next season.
@SleeperJazz I'm just giving honest feedback on this take. Over the next few years when both teams are contending we'll have a much closer direct comparison to make
I've thought a lot about every proposed method to change the draft to de-incentivize tanking. The only one that I think actually works: randomly and secretly select 80% of the games for losses and 20% for wins to count toward increased lottery odds
This is an A+ deal for the Jazz with a huge caveat that if they don't hit in this year's draft then they're stuck being a middling team with very expensive contracts
@All_Things_Mavs Your argument is that not playing Kevin Love (who regularly gets non-tanking related DNP-CD) is less ethical than not playing fringe all star Lauri Markkanen? That's an odd take.
@McCadeP8 The way I see it he's either all star caliber or fringe rotation player. I don't think there's much space in the grey area for a different outcome. I purchased a bunch of his cards online a couple months ago because of this.
@DLocke09 Out of the 8 young guys from the last 3 drafts, if we can get 1 all star, 2 starters, and another role player then this was a huge success. I'm really excited to find out who pops this season. Just hope we're not so young collectively that these guys pick up bad habits
@McCadeP8 Curious what piece of optimism you felt for Collier? That night was particularly rough for him. Unless he doesn't fit your meaningful category. I'm buying low right now on Cody Williams cards. Feeling a lot more optimism about him
@McCadeP8 Not sure what you're trying to plot here, but would something similar to a wind rose fit your needs? Some python and R libraries out there for those
I just don't think the summer coming off of the worst record in the league with no discernable young talent with star potential is the right time to trade for a big name
@andyblarsen He's doing exactly what the NBA wants him to do. NBA will happily give him the bonus for facilitating more money coming in from more playoff games played
