Went up to the Manistee National Forest in Northern Newaygo County today. The bugs are WAY down from a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks in no small part to my fluttering friends!

The Nuthatch pranced around with that fly for 5 minutes before eating it! 😅

@lucylenora1 The are easy to find because they a vocal. But hard to photograph because they are skittish!

The Scarlet Tanager likes the thick canopy woods and will come down to near eye level at times.

Certain ones can be quite curious and will come investigate you rather than fly off.

On a hot dry day, the Flutters might appreciated a cold drink and a splash more than the bird feed.

I put a pan in the mulch in my garden and placed some rocks in and around it. I spray some fresh water in it when I water my plants.
