This is what forgetting Christianity does to a civilization:
“The modern world imagines that it has outgrown religion. It has done nothing of the kind. It has merely forgotten it. And because it has forgotten it, it no longer understands itself.
Men do not realize that the whole framework of their moral judgments, their political habits, and even their intellectual methods were formed within a Christian society and cannot exist long outside it. When that framework breaks, they will not find themselves enlightened, but bewildered; not free, but enslaved; not rational, but confused.”
— Hilaire Belloc, Europe and the Faith
Prediction for Next Week: SSPX consecrates bishops and gets their bishops excommunicated and the priests loose their faculties for Confession and Marriage.
The Vatican laments the action of "schism", but encourages priests to say the New Mass more reverently.
FSSP and ICK trade distance themselves from the SSPX even more.
Online E-thomists shout on X "Submit to Rome", while continuing not assent to the Vatican teachings on Immigration, the Death Penalty, and Climate Change.
Catholic Podcasters who know very little about the subject will talk about how horrible this is, and how Salvation is found through absolute obedience.
Today, the U.S. bishops consecrated the nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus during the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
BRAVERY AT ITS PEAK: Christians in Iran were seen marching and boldly declaring Jesus Christ on the streets of Iran.🇮🇷
It's revival time and GOD has emboldened His people
@RealJamesWoods I’m a Catholic convert (confirmed in April). This person may be closer than they think.
It’s hard to distinguish between parroting dogmas and true conviction. But that is also true in Protestant churches. If Christian Good may still there, why not in Mother Church?
Excessive money can only "buy so much." Time, health, and love above all else.
Every billionaire wants to be a podcaster / go on Joe Rogan. Obviously money did not fill that hole in the soul.
@JillLemley1@realpeteyb123 … and it was Paul who wrote that it was better to remain single for the glory of God, but if one could not control their passions then they should marry.
@MarinaMedvin@L_Mitros85 To be fair, there’s ideally hope for amend making. Passivity towards unrepentant cruelty isn’t quite forgiving anything.
… irony being the events of “Good Friday” lead into “Easter Sunday.” In that, man’s Worst wasn’t enough to win
Trump’s getting better at defeating himself.
@MarinaMedvin You’re right.
… I hope the Republicans have more than “Trump is the Antichrist” to campaign on in the fall. I just don’t see that winning over enough liberal votes.
