It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the United States Ambassador to the European Union. I look forward to working with our European allies and I am committed to advancing the best interests of the American people - making America safer, stronger and more prosperous. My sincere thanks to President Trump for giving me the opportunity to serve in his incredible Administration. I am so proud of where our Nation is headed under his leadership. Thanks also to my wife and my friend Secretary Rubio for their support. Standing in the Oval Office with friends and family as my wife held a family Bible and Secretary Rubio administered the oath all under the watchful eye of President Trump was the experience of a lifetime. May God Bless President Trump and may God Bless the United States of America.
At @epc_eu’s Forum, we discussed what is “truly critical” for Europe’s future. The answer: a Europe unshackled by overregulation, powered by energy abundance, and partnered with the U.S. in the global AI race. Innovation, competitiveness, and growth—not bureaucracy—will determine victory. Great to join Sebastien Reyn (@ASMLcompany), @JamesAppathurai, and @ShonaMurray_ for this important conversation.
“We” are the international consensus who care about freedom. You know — the one NATO member nations invoke when they want defense subsidies.
And “we” still agree on something: nations should apply their own sovereign laws. Which is why pathetic censorship flailing by foreign bureaucrats directed at American speech, on American platforms, protected by America’s First Amendment gets you sanctioned.
Sorry you can’t control the conversation anymore.
At last year’s NATO Summit, all Allies signed onto the historic Hague Defense Commitment. At next month’s NATO Summit in Ankara, we’ll see how much progress they have made in converting that commitment into real defensive capabilities.
We are working on a number of arrangements with the EU: a trade deal, an MoU on critical minerals that we've signed, and Pax Silica, which will bring the EU into the AI economy. Under President Trump's administration, what he's accomplished with Europe—5% defense spending, the trade deal, critical minerals, AI—is significant. People talk about contracting the US-EU relationship, but we are expanding it.
No other President could have secured a trade deal like this—it's incredible. This is also a testament to the Europeans, who worked very hard to navigate it through their process. @POTUS and President @vonderleyen worked closely to make this happen. This will be a real accomplishment and a hallmark of President Trump's administration.
🇪🇺🇺🇸Next milestone reached
Strong majority. @EP_Trade endorsed the negotiated outcome on the implementation of EU–US deal
Parliament’s key demands included: robust safety net with sunset clause, review provisions & safeguards against new US tariffs
Next: plenary vote on 16 June
Today, the Committee on International Trade adopted the provisional agreement on the Framework Agreement on Trade with the United States — an important step towards final adoption on 16 June.
As @EPPGroup rapporteur, I welcome this result and thank all colleagues for the constructive cooperation. Today, we showed responsibility and delivered another positive signal in support of stronger EU–US trade relations.
Strong partnerships create strong businesses. 🇪🇺🇺🇸
Appreciate today’s positive @EP_Trade INTA Committee vote.
Let’s keep moving forward on EU commitments under the Turnberry deal.
Next stop, plenary @Europarl_EN.
Statement from @US2EU on the @EU_Commission's proposal to amend and simplify the European Deforestation Regulation ↓
In its current form, the #EUDR represents the very regulatory pathology the Draghi Report diagnosed: excessive sustainability rules create unnecessary and fragmented burdens that stifle the EU’s competitiveness.
True simplification would preserve the EUDR’s objective, fulfill the EU’s commitment under the U.S.-EU Framework Agreement on Trade to avoid any undue impact on U.S.-EU trade, and comply with the co-legislators’ directive to remove the EUDR’s unnecessary regulatory burdens, all while keeping prices down for EU consumers. In the U.S., we call that a win/win.

President Trump said it best at Turnberry: “We have reached a deal. It's a good deal for everybody... It's going to bring us closer together... it's a partnership." All @USEU’s work aims to ensure the EU quickly implements the trade deal agreed to by @POTUS and @vonderleyen. https://t.co/o0rVRdWliU
“It’s really a hallmark of his administration.”
@USAmbEU Puzder speaks with @MariaBartiromo at the Reagan National Economic Forum about the significance of the U.S.-EU trade deal nearing final approval under @POTUS Trump — TONIGHT at 7pm ET on @FoxBusiness.
Deeply concerned by reports of new fines being prepared against American companies. Targeting U.S. firms with punitive measures would be a serious mistake corrosive to private investment and economic growth in Europe. We will be watching closely.

The Trump Administration is focused on reciprocal trade and mutually beneficial alliances that support critical sectors. Couldn't have a better partner than @USTradeRep Greer to negotiate a U.S.-EU arrangement to reduce trade barriers and unlock innovation.
The Trump Administration is protecting America's forests and natural resources while promoting economic growth. The Make America Beautiful Again Commission aims to:
🌲 Promote responsible stewardship of natural resources while driving economic growth
🏃 Expand access to public lands and waters
🌱 Support voluntary conservation efforts
❎ Cut bureaucratic delays that hinder effective environmental management
On the Turnberry agreement: It was a long process, and we still have additional steps, but encouraging that we got through this part. Both the Council and Parliament worked very hard to see that this trade deal got through, and they deserve a lot of credit for it. I think it'll be a big improvement in the US-EU relationship.

On both the US and EU side, there's a very strong feeling that we need to move forward with the critical minerals Memorandum of Understanding. We don't want this to be a strongly worded memo that nobody ever acts on. We want this agreement to produce results. I'm hopeful we're going to see some legitimate projects come out of this.

American companies tell me: "We love Europe. We want to build data centers, collect data, bring AI hardware here. But every time we turn around, there's new regulation or we get hit with a $100 million fine."
It's hard to cooperate with people who are constantly regulating or fining you. I hope we can become more of a partner to the EU on AI, critical minerals, and energy.
