This is why I think Leeds v Tottenham will be all about fouls.

Both clubs are among the top five offenders in the Premier League for fouls committed so far this season.

Tottenham average 13.2 fouls committed per game (Rising to 14.5 away from home) and Leeds average 13.1.

There are two areas of the pitch that I think are worth looking at:

Calvert-Lewin up against Tottenham’s centre halves van de Ven and van Hecke.

You’ve got three man-mountains there and one of the best tests of physicality you’ll see.

DCL has committed the joint-most fouls in the Leeds squad alongside Ampadu, and he averages 2.09 fouls committed per 90 minutes.

As for fouls won, his average sits at 1.16 per 90 minutes so expect fouls both ways with him.

He has had four or more fouls involvements in three of his last four Premier League starts. 5 v Arsenal, 4 v Man Utd and then 5 v Bournemouth in Leeds’ last match.

Out of the two Tottenham CB’s to win fouls, I’d lean towards van de Ven who is Tottenham’s second most-fouled player averaging 1.53 fouls drawn per 90 minutes.

As I’m writing this, I’ve just watched a feature on TNT Sport where they’ve gone through how the CB’s play under De Zerbi and how he wants van de Ven to invite pressure from the opponents’ striker - no wonder he draws so many fouls.

The second area to look at is Leeds’ midfield. It’s mad to me that you can get Tanaka at 2.20 to commit 2+ fouls up against the likes of Kudus, Marmoush, and potentially Maddison from the bench.

Tanaka averages 1.94 fouls committed per 90 mins and has committed 2+ fouls in four of his last five appearances.

Bets I like:

• van de Ven 2+ fouls won (2.30)

• Calvert-Lewin 4+ foul involvements (2.20)

• Tanaka 2+ fouls committed (2.20)
