“Morality binds and blinds. It binds us into ideological teams that fight each other as though the fate of the world depended on our side winning each battle. It blinds us to the fact that each team is composed of good people who have something important to say.” - @JonHaidt
We FINALLY are talking about the Bricks & Minifigs scandal! (I know, I'm about as fast jumping on this one as I am waddling around in Baby Bytes 2's third trimester 😅)
In this one, we're talking about the consignments issue and why a jury would eat BAM and the new franchise owners alive if this issue ever went to trial. Come check it out, and let me know if you have other specific issues you want to see talked about!

This is the most RIDICULOUS traffic citation ever. TikToker Katie Thomas was pulled over and given a traffic ticket for supposedly holding and "manipulating" a phone in her right hand. But there was a big problem with enforcing that citation: she doesn't HAVE a right hand. Instead of admitting his mistake, the cop pursued the ticket. The result was karmic viral fame until she finally won.

Have been speaking with @NatetheLawyer this morning and here’s an update he has given to us:
“Hey just wanted to keep everyone updated. My wife will also be reaching out to keep you all in the loop.
Right now, I’m waiting on another specialist because the tumor (about the size of a golf ball) is on one side of my head and tangled with some brain tissue. They need a specialist to separate it safely.
The surgery is scheduled for Wednesday and is expected to take around 12 hours. After that, I’ll be in the hospital for about 3 days, followed by roughly 2 weeks of physical therapy/rehab.
It’s a little risky because of where the tumor is, but we’re hopeful everything will go well. I’ll update you all after the surgery so you know I made it through.”
The tumor is serious business and there could be more delays. This is good. We want them to get it right.
.@NatetheLawyer took this selfie and wanted me to be in it and post it. This is by far the strangest selfie I have been a part of. Nate is doing fine. Surgery is delayed but all is well for now.
Last month, I shared that my wife was diagnosed with cancer. We caught it early, had an excellent medical team, and the surgery went well yesterday . Next up radiation. Thanks for all the support.
That is a FAST (and probably small, depending on the injuries) settlement offer. Imagine taking this deal and then realizing several months down the road that your injuries are actually worse than you thought they were.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with telling a big corporation like this that you don't want to settle at this time.
Tbh, this text is super helpful to Justin Baldoni.
If Isabella Ferrer sent this to JB on July 11, 2023 (as he alleges on pp. 46-47 of his FAC's Exhibit A), and is now being pulled in to be a witness to testify that JB harassed her on set, this text is going to be used on her cross-examination, and it's not going to be pretty for her, because this completely contradicts that kind of allegation.
A person doesn't go out of their way to text someone that the other person "created such a comfortable, safe space for me to feel like I could fully step into this role." It's a text, so they're not in person, and she appears to be the one opening up the conversation to share heavy praise. So it doesn't seem like a situation that can be batted away by an explanation like, "she's just being overly agreeable to manage his aggression/personality."
So, if she does in fact testify that he harassed her, I would expect her potential testimony to be completely discounted by a jury when they see this text.
I will say, it is very interesting that the first round of subpoenas Blake Lively's attorneys served (assuming they're announcing all of them to the public when they serve them) are to the Wayfarer Parties' phone companies for their location data and what not, and not Sony for any and all HR complaints made regarding Justin Baldoni/Jamey Heath's behavior during production.
It doesn't mean they didn't do bad things, or that there weren't any complaints, and it doesn't mean BL isn't going to subpoena them at some point. But if they thought that was fertile ground for finding important information, I would think they'd go there earlier than later to make sure they have good ammunition for their case.
This to me signals that they might see the harassment claim as weaker than their retaliation claim. I already suspected that, since retaliation is often easier to prove, but it's interesting to see that might actually be the case.
