We have noticed an increasing amount of hate speech and comments across the social media channels of the football club and the club’s charity, the Port Vale Foundation.
Frankly, the language used so freely and openly, is disgusting.
We are extremely proud to be a football club that champions diversity and social inclusion and will no longer tolerate the torrent of abuse aimed at certain individuals or groups based on their ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or otherwise.
To put this clearly and simply, the views and the people that hold them are not welcome at Port Vale Football Club.
@PVFCFoundation
A big thank you to Ed, who kindly donated to us on Tuesday's game. 🙏
Ed sadly lost his father to dementia recently - all proceeds from donations at the funeral will go towards our Memory Lane group, supporting people living with dementia.🤍

@chaysp81@Tom_Amos@Adamyates83@tomscott1996 Director of Community for the club
He was also CEO of a club that was succeeding a few months ago & the success on the football side then wouldn’t have been down to him.
We are going to need to agree to disagree - I’m just asking things aren’t personal and disrespectful.
@chaysp81@Tom_Amos@Adamyates83@tomscott1996 To add again - whilst the job title maybe deceiving Matt ran the day to day of the club at Burton Albion. Plus as Director of Community at Port Vale - that also had far wider responsibilities. This wasn’t an issue last season 🤷♂️
@chaysp81@Tom_Amos@Adamyates83@tomscott1996 It’s a natural progression and is seen around the country. You run an organisation and lead people then step into another role. For some reason some fans expect to see a former player, from stoke, who has also run an organsation and been a ceo of a football club elsewhere 🤷♂️
@Adamyates83@tomscott1996 What do people expect Matt (or any CEO) to say. The manager only left a few days ago - it’s the right thing to do to give clarity to players and staff for the next few days. Far too much has become personal. Doesn’t say anything and gets criticised - speaks and the same.
@ollyrhodes86@BenMorris82@MxndaJay@PVFCFoundation Because the power of the badge is critical in making a difference to those that need it, including much of our fanbase who access the foundations services. The foundation/community arm has been in place since the 90s and will continue to do so for years to come.
Twitter is a horrible place - time to get myself off it. Brilliant work here by @PVFCFoundation staff & volunteers giving up their Christmas to support those that need it more - but fans can’t recognise how this is different from the first team performance. 🤷♂️the work continues!
📊 The numbers behind a very successful Christmas period for the Foundation.
We are very grateful to everyone involved or volunteering at the club during the festive period!

@NathanShapland_@dannybezza86@PVFCFoundation Having got to know Carol in recent years, this is completely untrue. Owners decisions are open for debate of course - but the foundation does not take attention away from anything else and she does certainly care.
@ANDYPVFC@MxndaJay@PVFCFoundation Just to add - it should never be a choice. Every club in the country has a charity and rightly so. For some fans right now - that is their lifeline on a day to day basis
@ANDYPVFC@MxndaJay@PVFCFoundation Wrexham isn’t a good comparison, they have recognised they have got their charity work wrong, hence changes they continue to make. There will always be good and bad times on the pitch but we clearly have more to do to help our fanbase understand the foundations work and purpose.
@Jezzy591992@SophiLouBar Not sure on your point here - I chair the foundation and Carol is a trustee and adds value, as do many others. Agree or disagree with the football side but the foundation is definitely not a distraction.
Christmas at #PVFC 🤍
The festive period can be a difficult and lonely time for some, and today we opened the doors of Vale Park to make Christmas dinner for more than 150 people from our local community.
Our sincere thanks to the dedicated team of volunteers who helped put smiles on faces!
