@JamesMaleedy @jaxonloid The dumb thing is, if you fit an air to air heat pump unit which can heat as well as cool it is allowed under "permitted development". No planning permission application needed

@GaltsRanch @jacobreynolds Originally planning rules were to prevent people building factories etc in residential areas. Similar to US zoning laws. However it has become more about rich people controlling what ordinary people can do. Changes are long overdue

@odden56 @jacobreynolds I actually think it is stupid to need permission. Just providing info that may not be obvious/available to non Brits. Additional info- if the unit can warm as well no permission needed. Cooling only does need it 🤷‍♂️
