@caddietales Have a great season Mark, part of me is wishing I was walking to that first tee with two bags on with a whole season of opportunity ahead!
The NFL playoffs are a great reminder that there are really only like 5 good quarterbacks at any given time in the NFL, and there is an entire media industrial complex dedicated to making you think otherwise, selling you hope.
Had the game in our hands from the rip, young team with a ton of heart and talent. Easy to finger point and it definitely hurts but all you want to see is this TEAM to take accountability and move on and get ready for the next run #GoPackGo
Some of my favorite Tiger stats.
Enjoy.
------------
Tiger from 1999 to 2009:
Percent of events he won:
➡️34%
Percent of events he finished 9th or worse:
➡️32%
Over a 10-year stretch, Tiger was more likely to win than finish 9th or worse.
------------
Tiger had a 10 year stretch (1999 to 2009) where he finished in the top three in 53% of his starts.
------------
Tiger in 2000 season:
▶️2nd in Distance off-the-tee
▶️Hit 71.2% of fairways
Pretty good.
------------
From 1999 to 2004 Tiger had a 100 tournament stretch with:
▶️33 wins
▶️61 top 5s
▶️70 top 10s
-----------
Tiger was how good in 2000?
Take the 2022 leader in each strokes gained category:
Off-the-tee: Rahm (1.03)
Approach: Zalatoris (1.06)
Around-the-green: Kuchar (0.52)
Putting: Herbert (0.85)
Add them up = 3.46 per round.
In 2000 Tiger gained 3.83 per round.
------------
Tiger Woods won 24 times in a 38-month stretch.
------------
Since 1980 (as far back as the stats go) the only player ever to hit more than 75% greens in regulation in a season?
Tiger Woods in 2000.
(75.15%)
-------------
Tiger in 2000:
He gained 5+ strokes in 31.6% of his rounds.
------------
Tiger's career win-rate as a pro:
▶️23%
Chances the typical PGA Tour pro makes a 15-foot putt:
▶️22%
-----------
Tiger had 32-round stretch in 2006/2007 where he beat the field by an average of 4.7 shots per round.
Tiger was nearly 5 shots better than the average tour player. 🤯
He would have needed to spot them 19 shots over 4 rounds to make it "fair"!
------------
In the 2000 season Tiger finished in the top five 17 out of 20 events. His worst finish that season was 23rd.
-------------
If you only counted the money Tiger won at:
▶️Firestone
▶️Augusta
▶️Torrey Pines
▶️Bay Hill
It would be $36.9 million.
That alone puts him 28th on the career money list.
-------------
Tiger had a stretch where he won 23 times in 50 events.
▶️Win rate of 46% 🤯
-------------
In 2000 season, Tiger played 76 rounds.
He shot (or tied) the lowest round of the day 21% of the time.
He shot (or tied) one of the five lowest rounds of the day 53% of the time.
Up 3 with all those mistakes and two awful turnovers? I’ll take it but this 2nd half better be a drastic improvement or we aren’t going to be happy campers
