@briney67 @EurostarUK It has been shocking and ongoing! Had an email yesterday saying train travel would be refunded. Great news as this was part of our journey home, but sadly has to be another Eurostar train…which weren’t running or able to be booked due to the strikes!

@EurostarUK Yes, I am referring to the 21st which was the date of our return journey. It was unclear at that point how long the strike action would last for, so I hope you can see we took a reasonable action and this can be refunded.

@EurostarUK so disappointed with the compensation policy for journeys cancelled by strikes before Christmas. Suggestion for elderly relatives just to sit around and wait for the next available train home!

@EurostarUK Please also understand that one of elderly relatives was my 86 year old father who wasn’t going to sit in the station indefinitely.

@EurostarUK We understood there may have been trains the next day and over the weekend, but this wasn’t guaranteed or mentioned when the strikes began. Our course of action to fly home that evening probably saved more money than having to accommodate 6 people for a night or two nights!
