Meet your new Regenerative Art Collection! These pieces were created in collaboration with AI. I worked hard on each and every one, adding layers and rejecting passes until I felt they were perfect. Support my #art habit! Go get one! Quick! https://t.co/Wgik9zYfwt #NFTArtist#NFT
I still see a ton of people thinking the AI tools are ruining the industry and making lazy programmers and dumbing everyone down. I align with Tim on this;
There will be so much more code. Every business has problems that could be solved by a simple bespoke app or service. And those small business owners are as likely to make the apps themselves as they are to set up their own domain name, socials and emails. Some do, most pay someone else to do it.
One of my businesses already makes bespoke apps for small businesses. We’ve helped tradespeople, local post offices, home care providers - all with specific problems that are unique to them. We are doing very well.
Using the AI tools effectively to produce solutions will always be a skill. But it will be a skill with a near unlimited addressable market and a low barrier to entry, unlike programming today. The same way that managing a business instagram account is a skill, with a low barrier to entry.
I have been programming for over 25 years, professionally for 17. I am good at C and Java and Typescript and most of the others, I can make web apps, games and embedded systems by hand. My skill is not in programming languages or frameworks. It’s in problem solving. I was never afraid of being replaced, in fact a few years ago I quit my job to start my own business(es).
I embrace the AI tools and you should too. Get good at them, don’t expect them to think on your behalf, learn to drive them properly.
You will never be replaced by AI, you will be replaced by someone who is comfortable using AI.
Here's a tip; design industry professionals like phrases such as "clean design", but end users and corporate clients prefer phrases like "human-first design". They want to be explicitly told that their needs and experience were considered while the product was being designed. We A/B tested this extensively at one of my previous companies. The sentiment difference is big enough that its worth considering, depending on who your audience is.
Don't obscure functionality or sacrifice user experience in the name of clean design, especially not when you can meet both requirements at once.
@Morph_VGart Thanks so much. I’ve been playing with VQGAN+CLIP for a couple months and I just can never seem to get these crisp clean results that others seem to. I can make paintings pretty easily though
@Balmer85 Sure, I've already run a number of giveaways. You can have a copy of "Farewell Rocketship" if you drop me your wallet 😁 https://t.co/633Nq2XPmL
