Ronald Reagan died 22 years ago today. Whilst the cartoon Pat Oliphant drew commemorating his death seemed staunchly pro-Reagan, cartoons he drew whilst Reagan was alive were much less so; this 1986 cartoon is a good example of the phenomenon.
Old-school socialists believed in taxing the rich & rent control too. Gen Z socialists (none of whom are Gen Z) want the exact same things but "me first."
The kind of insightful, serious analysis from grown-ups that's led this mag to never allow a byline on its articles.
The US left has absolutely no power & has accomplished nothing. Our own country is murdering & looting the world while we watch & you guys still want to make demands like this & tell people who they can & can't "ally" with (whatever the fuck that even means).
What’s crazy about the IMAX push is that basically nobody has access to actual IMAX. In the entire city of New York, there is literally ONE true IMAX theater
It's so effing crazy that this lady was the founder of LADIES FOR BRETT KAVANAUGH, a right wing op to run interference against his accusers, and the @nytimes never once felt the need to mention this in its story.
The most shocking part of this story is that the NYT had a former AIPAC Activist of the Year (Katie Glueck) write a piece devoted to detailing unsubstantiated claims from a professional Republican activist (Lyndsey Fifield) on how a left Democratic Senate candidate who has promised to take on Israel (Platner) was a lousy boyfriend and sold it as a legit journalistic scoop.
The left should defend Platner from the NYT smear campaign. Not because Graham Platner is a great guy. But because the slandering of Israel critics will continue until the cost outweighs the benefit.
They botched this hit job, and we should point it out to inoculate Americans against future slanders against politicians, protestors, and even college kids.
🇺🇸 Rep. Mike Lawler says that if Democratic House candidate Dr. Adam Hamawy is elected in November, he will “demand a full congressional investigation into his connections and any links to terrorist organizations.”
