With little or no brood in the hive, now’s the time to treat bees against the parasitic varroa mite. Varroa reproduce inside the bees’ brood cells, so now can only cling onto bees’ bodies & are vulnerable to rhubarb (oxalic) acid applications. Here’s my smite-a-mite set-up today.
