augustin’s reaction here, forcibly snatching & closing gabrielle’s book, the same book she used to ignore her children, & look down on them, having the audacity to call them stupid, ‘cabbages’, when she’s the one who refused to educate them in the first place…
New behind the scenes clip of Sam Reid and Jacob Anderson as Lestat de Lioncourt and Louis de Pointe du Lac filming the "Why Do I Have To Feel?" scene from episode 2! via Matthew Santos on Instagram.
what sets sam reid apart from many actors is that he’s mastered internalizing the inner world of his characters and then subtly communicate their true emotions through his acting choices...he’s so mesmerizing
Having to wear the visual reminders of one or two of the most traumatic events of your human life every day for eternity and everyone wants you for your body so you put it on display more…yeah I’m sure that’s helping with the fracturing mental state..
rolin saying he had to fight for this season against amc, and hiding stuff until the day of shoot so they wouldn’t get in trouble. jennifer saying she wanted to fight for certain elements of her character from the book for the show. oh amc you will begin to cough in 5 days time
we often praise the actors for emotionally tense scenes but this is a good example of how light-hearted scenes could end up unremarkable in the hands of lesser actors. sam & jacob’s iconic line deliveries & priceless expressions make this SO rewatchable.
He just KNEW her declaration & him going to “be a man” would be the thing to make her love him…KNOWING she sent him to his death
And that his mere survival made him desirable (it did) but the moment he revealed he did it for love, for her to belong to him, she abandoned him
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I BEEN CRYING ABOUT THIS ALL DAMN DAY
Guys, the reason there’s a scene at a strip club is to parallel Lestat to the sex workers. He isn’t turned on by any of it, he even talks to the strippers like they’re co-workers. He’s seen by Gabriella (and Christine in the phone call) as nothing more than a body, like them.
lestat saying he’s alive only because daniel saved him (otherwise he would’ve let himself be killed), mentioning akasha out loud unprompted, sleeping in a coffin that looks like a box inside with zero comfort... the whole tour…. he *really* wants to die uh….
lestat chanting "why why why" while louis reads the questions lestat has written "why is louis trying to hurt me?" "oh my dear claudia, why?"— is absolute cinema
the only thing lestat had from his father was something he took by force & when he himself became a dad he gifted what he had to claw out for himself to claudia without hesitation.he wanted to give her everything & never wanted her to feel like she had to fight for it like he did
