Denmark just kept Norway in a union by military force for centuries, drained its resources and intellectual wealth which became centralized in Copenhagen, stole both Iceland (and more), and heavily discriminated against Norwegian language and culture.

@NotKniter @RasmusJarlov Yes and the Norwegians - I am one - were ecstatic to finally be away from Denmark. In fact, Norway was briefly independent because it declared independence from Denmark AND Sweden despite the treaty of Kiel before Sweden came knocking. Where do you get your history from?
