can someone explain why there isn’t like a +-1 ft for offside rule?
it makes zero sense when it’s a damn toe that is offside.
it makes the game too damn mechanical.
If you believe that Jaylen was traded at least in part because the team thought there may be attitude issues related to his role/contract than it’s not at all surprising that they didn’t outright tell him that
Wow.
Per: @BillSimmons
Giannis was about to sign off on the Celtics trade, but he wanted a 3 year extension at 35% of the cap but Boston was set on 2 years at 30%.
Brad Stevens would budge on the extension and that’s when he approved the trade to Miami.
Unreal.
Don’t look at Brad Stevens. Look at the new owners. Got rid of Holliday and Porzingis. Didn’t have to. Just had to pay more than they wanted to. This trade is a salary dump. They did not want to give him the extension in August and took two years of Paul George at 50M instead.
Do people not know what being above the aprons does for team building purposes? There’s a reason they wanted to reset last year outside of tax purposes
"The Bill Chisholm era has been filled with nothing but cost cutting since he purchased the team less than a year ago. It’s one thing to pass on signing Brown to that two-year, $141 million deal he was eligible for later this month, and it’s another to send him to a conference rival to boost its championship chances while you’re left with a 36-year-old who was suspended 25 games last season for violating the league’s drug policy." @GwashburnGlobe . https://t.co/fqx4pQo4Ax
Seemingly points to the smoke around the attitude issues being real. JBs comments about the season, the refs, and potentially upcoming extension (who knows what he’s gonna say lol) might’ve expedited it
I think I've listened to all the major Celtics-Sixers reaction pods, plus recorded my own thoughts. I think everyone who covers the league has the same basic thought:
If that was the best offer, why not wait? The season doesn't start tomorrow. Why not see what else develops?
