WATCH: House prosecutor Terry Ridon says the defense team has nothing to blame but themselves about the supposed taken-out-of-context remark of defense lawyer, Kristine Ferrer, during the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte on Wednesday, August 12.

Ferrer was quoted as saying "they are allowed" shortly after opposing counsel Lorna Kapunan mentioned that misleading questions are not allowed in cross examination.

However, before the adjournment this afternoon, lead defense counsel Sheila Sison explained that Ferrer was pertaining to a different matter, in particular to the questions answerable by yes or no.

Senators Raffy Tulfo and Pia Cayetano exchanged sharp words during Tuesday’s plenary session after Tulfo accused Senator Alan Peter Cayetano of preventing minority members from joining his committees.

The clash erupted when Tulfo said Senate Minority Leader Alan had allegedly continued to refuse to give his go-signal on the minority bloc’s election to the committees under his chairmanship, as if the members were being held hostage.

"Senator Tulfo, madali n'yo naman akong tanungin, alam n'yo namang kapatid ko si Alan kung may gusto kayong iparating. Huwag na ho kayo mag-drama ng pa-hostage hostage, hindi ho tayo ganito rito," Pia said in defense of her brother.

"Never po ako nag-drama dito [...] Sino ang nagda-drama? Tumingin muna kayo sa salamin bago kayo magsalita," Tulfo rebutted.
