Inspired by the disciples' journey with Jesus. Written for you. "Roots" by Jamie MacDonald is out now. Stream on Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, or wherever you listen to music.
Millions of people have never heard this song or the truth behind it.
But if you put your faith in Jesus Christ, one day it won’t just be a song. It will be your reality.
I simply cannot believe that I had NEVER learned this in a textbook or anywhere else. You're watching me hear it from @TimDavidBarton for the first time.
This seems like a pretty big deal.
This changed everything.
"It is finished." (John 19:30)
But before those final words were spoken, Jesus endured what no words can ever fully capture.
He was betrayed by a close friend.
Disowned three times by another.
Abandoned by nearly all who had followed Him.
He stood silent before His accusers as false charges were hurled and crowds demanded His death.
A crown of thorns was mockingly pressed into His skull. Soldiers beat Him nearly to death with dozens of brutal lashes.
Then He carried the heavy cross through the crowded streets of Jerusalem, the wood pressing into His open wounds.
At Golgotha, overlooking Jerusalem, the soldiers drove nails through His hands and feet and lifted Him on a cross between two criminals.
For hours, the weight of all of humanity’s sin hung on His shoulders.
The Son of God, who had never known sin.
He could have called upon angels.
He could have come down from the cross.
But He didn’t.
The sky went dark. The earth shook.
The veil of the temple was torn in two.
And Jesus gave up His spirit.
It was finished.
But this death did not mean defeat, as many people thought.
It was part of God’s rescue mission to save humanity from all of their mistakes.
Somehow, the darkest day in human history is called Good Friday.
Because it wasn’t the end of the story.
The resurrection was coming.
I would like to offer to pay the salaries of TSA personnel during this funding impasse that is negatively affecting the lives of so many Americans at airports throughout the country
"Let us remember the beautiful words of St. Patrick himself: May the power of God preserve us. May the wisdom of God instruct us. May the hand of God protect us. May the way of God direct us. May the shield of God defend us. & may the host of God guard us." - President Donald J. Trump 🍀
What a great idea ❤️
🎂🧁I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion about SNAP benefits… it’s a very touchy subject. But our house has celebrated 2 kiddos birthdays this month and all I can think about is kids who might go without a birthday cake next month because their family isn’t getting their SNAP benefits.
So… on this birthday night after the festivities calmed down, we put together some birthday pans to take to our local food pantry. Each contains a cake pan, cake mix, icing, candles and balloons. Each will also contain one can of pop (you can substitute one can in place of the eggs and oil—not everyone has eggs in their fridge unfortunately).
We didn’t drop a huge amount of money on this, but if those who can - make the effort to give a little extra to help their neighbors out, we will all make it through this.
Bless others when YOU are blessed enough to do so. 🫶🏻
