I tried to write down as many as I could.

Met in 1959.

His father King Olav was against it for years because she wasn’t royal.

Harald was the only heir.

He told his father he would not marry anyone else — which would have ended the dynasty.

Took nine years. The king finally consulted the government and gave consent.

They married in Oslo Cathedral on August 29, 1968.

Tomorrow would have been 58 years.

Olav walked her down the aisle himself.

That’s royalty. Standing up on principle.

Maybe that’s why I was never a fan of Charles.
