Back in 2015, Ukrainian presidential advisor Oleksiy Arestovych explicitly warned that pursuing NATO membership would almost certainly provoke Russia into launching a full-scale war.
Predicting, with 99.9% certainty, that it would happen in 2021/2022.

The warning was clear.
