Assistant Professor of Quantum Info/Theoretical Quantum Computation at DAMTP, University of Cambridge. Working on quantum information and mathematical physics.
We are excited to announce the workshop "Entangle This VI" that we are organizing on quantum science and technology in Madrid, 15th-19th September 2025. Registration and abstract submission is currently open! https://t.co/JzCc0Js93l
@dsfranca and I are looking for a joint Postdoc to work on aspects of quantum computing towards a quantum advantage. Applications are now open. Funding via the EU TouQan consortium grant https://t.co/RECxxmb3sz Please retweet!
New paper out about "Belavkin-Staszewski Quantum Markov Chains", the analogues of QMCs for the BS-entropy! https://t.co/cbpOxPFWiD
We study their structure and some properties and applications, see @hippoquantus post. Thanks to him, Pablo and Anna for a great collaboration!
Happy to announce a new preprint together with @AngelaCapelC, Pablo Costa Rico and Anna Jenčová, in which we study a class of states we call Belavkin-Staszewski Quantum Markov Chains https://t.co/Stm2foJwFD
Lately I've been seeing a lot of hype around quantum computing on this platform. Are those bots or humans? Either way, what I'm seeing is concerning. I want to provide an honest perspective on the current status quo, which is hopefully useful. Long story short, I do think a lot of exciting progress on QC will be made over the next few years. But I doubt those progress will be commercial applications.
Two open positions in mathematical physics in Tübingen funded by ERC Starting Grant
"MathQuantProp: The Mathematics of Quantum Propagation"
Ph.D. position
https://t.co/VxsUwbDSEq
Postdoc position
https://t.co/Y7TH9gtncS
start: mid 2025 (flexible)
deadline: January 15, 2025
I am looking for a talented postdoc in the field of theoretical / mathematical quantum computing.
The position is founded by the Quantera @TouQan_quantum that aims to put rigorous foundations to for the possibility of attaining quantum advantage in quantum simulators
The picture for rapid mixing of Davies generators associated with local commuting Hamiltonians is now close to be complete, as these results are quasi-optimal and hold for any k-locality.
Thanks to my coauthors Paul Gondolf, Jan Kochanowski and @CambyseRouze !
New paper out, entitled "Quasi-optimal sampling from Gibbs states via non-commutative optimal transport metrics"
https://t.co/FayYtKnyBs
Given a local commuting Hamiltonian, when can we prepare efficiently the Gibbs state associated with it using dissipation?
All these results require some technical inequalities of independent interest, such as weak Approximate Tensorization for the relative entropy, weak Log-Sobolev Inequalities and weak Transport Cost Inequalities. All results are collected in this picture.
We're organising a workshop on "Correlations of quantum many-body systems" in Tuebingen, Germany, from 16th to 20th December:
https://t.co/sMXxNzhhbs
with excellent speakers!
Interested in attending? Please, register until 8th Dec. For talks, submit your work until 24th Nov!
I am offering a 4 year PhD position to work on quantum algorithms for many-body problems, to stat in Winter of 2025.
Please do forward the announcement to potentially interested candidates! https://t.co/zMJmpAMCD2
Postdoc and PhD student positions are available at Cambridge in one or more of the following topics:
– Complexity Theory
– Quantum Complexity Theory
– Sublinear Algorithms
– Additive Combinatorics / Fourier Analysis
More details here: https://t.co/FuYnA9n64n
@quantum_graeme@grvphy@MvsCerezo@ZoltanZimboras @haferjonas 826 doesn't include poster only submissions, but it includes some submissions that were started and not finished in the end. The total number of talk submissions was close to 800 though...
Last 24 hours to submit your contributions to QIP2025!
Remember to do it at:
https://t.co/39c3KmPoqs
Almost 24 hours to go and we "only" have almost 300 submissions. How many will arrive in the last day?
