I feel #blessed to be working at a school site that has such a strong community. My coworkers and I have shown nothing but support towards each other and that has made transitioning to distance learning SO MUCH easier. 🙌🏼 Be there for each other. It makes all the difference.
Teachers have been bombarded w/ #DistanceLearning resources & might be on overload, but I've been collecting resources all summer & have grouped them here by subject area & other needs. Tried to limit to credible sources. Hope something here helps. https://t.co/o8VLqBiWqY
Last year when I was overwhelmed with the beginning of the school year (which is laughable now), my coworker just told me some advice that’s honestly getting me through this beginning of the year...
She told me, “Don’t worry if your walls aren’t finished, or if you don’t have everything planned out. Just make sure you’re ready for the first day and the rest will take care of itself.” That’s all I needed and I’m pretty sure I’m going to be using that advice forever.
Processing today: I took 2 fully online APSI courses this summer. Here are my takeaways as it relates to being a "student" in an online class.
1. Do not make students turn on their cameras
There were times I was eating & turned off my camera only to be asked to turn it back on
FINALLY! Finished my certification for digital education. Lots of great activities that taught me new strategies for both the traditional and online classroom. 🍎💻 #leflex#leadingedge#onlineteacher#teachersummer
Don’t forget how useful formative assessments are! There are so many ways to incorporate them into online learning, but don’t leave out these characteristics #formativeassessment#onlinelearning
What a simple idea to humanize the online classroom. Building rapport with students and families is so vital for a successful school year. Don't forget to do the same for an online classroom. Who's ready for the first day of school? #edchat#rapport#onlineteacher#teacherlife
We sometimes feel like we could have achieved more at the end of each day but how can we work towards using our time more wisely when teaching online?💻
