SHOCKING: A growing number of middle school athletes — mostly boys — are intentionally repeating 8th grade to delay their start in high school, giving themselves another full year to get bigger, stronger, and faster, which in turn dramatically boosts their chances at elite high school spots, college scholarships, and massive NIL deals potentially worth millions.

OHSAA says issue 2B failed. It would have allowed students at a public school that does not sponsor a particular team sport to participate in that sport at another public school, provided schools were within 20 miles and the superintendents of both schools approved arrangement.

🎨 The Gilles-Sweet Art Show Opening Night is this Wednesday!

Join us on Wednesday, May 6 from 5–7 p.m. for a fun, family-friendly evening celebrating the creativity of our students. Over 1,000 pieces of artwork from Gilles-Sweet students will be on display, filling the first-floor hallways with color and imagination.

Enjoy interactive stations like collage-making, popsicle-stick frames, and pixel art while you explore the show.

Can’t make it on Wednesday? The Art Show will also be open to the public on Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. We hope to see you there as we celebrate our young artists!

Programs are drying up. Teams can barely fill their rosters.
We can't grow this game if we can't get kids to believe it's worth their time.
