Historians, I need help (for perspective)

It feels like integrity is no longer a shared value across many areas of American/Western culture (sports, academics, politics, etc)

Was there ever really a culture that upheld integrity over self-centered or in-group interests?

I do have one request for storytellers working with historical texts:

Reflect on whether your choices are meaningful, purposeful, and necessary...

...or whether you're selling yourself and your audience short

I have no interest in getting involved with the debate about Christopher Nolan's Odyssey

But as someone whose graduate training is in Shakespeare's original practices, I can't help but have thoughts about "historical accuracy" vs "modernization"

I'll admit, I'm oversimplifying the issue

How best to tell a story is complex and subjective, and every storyteller gets to answer that question their own way. That's the beauty of art and creativity
