@heymrsbond 9/10 times if you're working on multiple projects at a time THAT'S what you're doing with your workday. These kids are expected to "go to work" for 8 hours, then go to their afterschool activities, then come home and work on their multiple projects with time they don't have.

My students were in breakout rooms today talking about expectations they can have for me as their teacher, when I popped in one I heard "I can't think of any, she's already so kind to us." Then when I ended for the day, they yelled "bye we love you!" #heartisfull #5thgrade

This places part of the responsibility on my teaching versus their abilities, and it's worked so far

@ann_dibella @rbharder I was like your daughter, then life got busy. I was stressed, trying to find myself and I didn't have time to read. Fast forward to now, I finished school and went right back to the girl doing anything to read. She won't lose the love, just might put it on the shelf for a little.

Overheard a teacher telling students that if they still had their bathroom pass to bring it up and he'd give them their extra credit. Now I'm thinking about bathroom policies and how strange it is to reward students for controlling their bodily functions? #whatareyourthoughts
