The problems AI creates can't be solved with pre-AI thinking. We need fresh frameworks, new mental models, and courage to abandon what worked before. The unknown unknowns demand unknown approaches. #DesignThinking#AI#Innovation#UXDesign
TASTE IS LEVERAGE in an increasingly homogenous AI-generated product world. Tastemakers unite! If you’re lucky, you’re born with a keen eye and curiosity. Most of it’s hard work, mastering fundamentals, immersing oneself in art and culture, and developing intuition. #design#AI
Well-designed teams can outperform poorly designed teams, even when led by less effective leaders.
Love this insight from J. Richard Hackman's research on team effectiveness.
Envisage the impact of having the best of both.

Too often, engaging with UX is seen as a drag on velocity, especially as teams speed up to keep pace with AI. While books like, Lean UX and Just Enough Research offer great inspiration, more creativity is required to balance quality and this unprecedented need for speed. #ux#ai
It's wild that the misconception of UX as UI is still very prevalent in many organizations with UX functions. Without proper evangelism, our value is too often reduced to pixels rather than strategy.

Building ethical AI shouldn’t be a mystery.
Here’s a practical framework—based on Spinoza—for PMs, designers, and engineers to build responsible AI systems:

UX must shift from making artifacts to shaping systems. Designers must become AI architects who orchestrate intelligent experiences. Macro-level patterns, AI system behaviors, ethical and understandable decision-making, adaptive experiences, trust and transparency are key.#ux#ai
AI is rewriting how products are built and used. UX teams face an existential imperative: become architects of AI experiences or risk irrelevance. #ai#ux
Design addresses the mood of a time —its cultural values, and technological trends. E.g., Improved accessibility in UX mirrors broader social awareness about inclusivity & diversity. Dark mode UI responds to user preferences shaped by modern screen fatigue and digital habits.
@andybudd I can see this working for some orgs. For others, maybe not. E.g., when there's a forceful executive team that fancies themselves "knowledgable about design" it's important to be able to credibly educate them at eye-level.
I eagerly beckon “the product singularity,” a point in time at which user & product strategy converge, when the PM & UX role are indistinguishable, and growth becomes uncontrollable & irreversible, resulting in unforeseeable evolutionary changes to technology & human well-being.
If I had a euro for every time I heard an executive leader mention the importance of user focus these past two days, I could buy myself lunch—and a dessert. Inspiring stuff @XING_de in #valencia#kickoff2020#forabetterworkinglife#newwork
