Books with the same sexually explicit content as MA15+ or R18+ films or games should have similar legal restrictions in public libraries.

This common-sense argument was made by Fair Go’s wonderful Upper House candidate – and licensed classifier – Angela Rojas, who pointed out that our concerns surround explicit and graphic sex instruction books, not books about reproduction or puberty.

Public libraries should be safe places for parents to send children. Mums and dads deserve a fair go when raising their kids.
