Twitter’s restricting how many tweets we can read a day. I’m almost welcoming it.
It means I won’t pull my phone out the moment I get bored. Boredom is hugely important for creative people. We can’t be afraid of it. We have to embrace it.
A handful of billionaires are filling their pockets while children go hungry and homeless people die on the streets.
I think that everybody deserves a place to live and enough food to eat.
Is that really such a radical idea?
@KatyElphinstone Yes, I think a lot of autistic people are able to see wider patterns. For me, it can be noticing connections across lengthy unfolding narratives in fiction. Especially fantasy and sci-fi TV shows, films and books.
The Glastonbury crowd filling in for Lewis Capaldi when he needed help was such a beautiful moment. Anyone saying “it was heartbreaking” or “he shouldn’t have gone on” is seriously missing the point. Disability is not a bad thing to be hidden. It exists alongside success and joy.
Common autistic special interests that aren’t spoken about enough: pop culture, music, psychology, sociology, animals (especially cats and horses), Barbie, The Sims, reading, Old Hollywood, eras in time, true crime, fashion, Eurovision, writing, K-drama, politics, makeup and art.
Woohoo! It’s been announced!
I’m writing a Werewolf By Night & Elsa Bloodstone one-shot for @Marvel comics, out in September! My partner in this black-and-white (with EXPLOSIONS of colour) adventure is Fran Galán, all under @AlannaWrites watchful eye!
JKR’s enthusiastic support for Posie Parker is interesting because PP is not a “valid concerns” transphobe, she’s a full-on eliminationist who denies the existence of trans people. The mask is long gone.
The Tories stuffed the EHRC with right-wing appointees, and now the EHRC is proposing stripping legal protections from trans people.
Just as the Tories targeted gay people for cynical partisan ends in the 1980s, so today they're gunning for trans people.
@WbJusti @bernaharbor @soundcube@Sha_nun96 @AmyCatsSLT @EmilioLees@KieranRose7 That - I seem to have everything under control and things sort of seem to be ok so I must be missing something/forgetting to do something and everything must be about to fall about feeling - ? Yes I think I relate to that
As a queer woman living in Scotland, the fear I felt as I heard the first preference results was like nothing I've felt before. Even despite this more positive result, the harm Forbes and Regan have done to LGBT+ rights during this campaign cannot be forgiven.
Someone shared this to pretend it was awful how poor innocent Nazi's were faced down as if the Nazi was the victim.
I think its really important to share to show that people, DECENT people, are sick of this shit and support the trans community MORE because of it.
Thank you NZ!
Hate preacher Kellie-Jay Keen is supported by the far right, and has Nazis attend her rallies.
JK Rowling supports Kellie-Jay Keen, retweet’s her, and now uses her slurs towards others.
If the person you support is also supported by Nazis…. Guess what….
I would like a leader for Scotland who supports trans rights, supports women accessing abortion, who isn’t against gay marriage & who wants buffer zones round sexual health clinics -basically I want a decent human who cares about the hard fought battles that are being pushed back
“Work is a virtue”, Jeremy Hunt says #BudgetDay2023. To anyone who can’t work because of disability, illness, or caring responsibilities, I reckon you have more “virtue” inside of you than any scapegoating ignorant Tory.
"How did this relative harmony turn to hatred in such a short period of time? Through the use of language. The language of hate and division."
Holocaust survivor @T21Joan demands we do not forget the lessons of the past.
