The Montreal Alouettes have released Canadian Kicker Lewis Ward, per the team.

Ward was signed a few weeks back as insurance while José Maltos Díaz worked through an injury, and though he never ended up seeing the field, the move itself says plenty. Teams still view him as CFL calibre and he remains the most experienced Kicker on the free agent market.

Glad Maltos is healthy, but part of me was hoping to see Ward back out there on gameday! A few teams around the league could stand to bring him in for a real look.
