Remembering our wonderful Queen Elizabeth II on the 100th anniversary of her birth 🌹
From early childhood until her final days, Her Majesty loved to ride 🐎 🐎 🐎
She continued riding for pleasure well into her nineties, and had her last gentle ride on her beloved Fell pony, Emma, less than two months before her death.
As we mark the centenary of her birth, we remember today the life of Queen Elizabeth II, and her unwavering service and dedication to our Armed Forces.
Happy birthday Your Majesty, like so many others I am proud to say I live in your commonwealth the one you took so much pride in. So proud to say you were my Queen. Happy birthday ma’am. We miss you

Today The King and Queen were joined by other members of the Royal Family at the British Museum to view a scale model of the new national memorial to commemorate the life of Queen Elizabeth II.
Their Majesties and Their Royal Highnesses met memorial designer Lord Norman Foster as well as the three artists producing work for the site. The model will remain on public display at the British Museum.
The tribute will overlook The Mall in central London, and is inspired by the 1955 portrait of the Queen at age 28 by Italian artist Pietro Annigon.
Today we remember Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who was born one hundred years ago, #onthisday in 1926.
As a royal church, Westminster Abbey had a special relationship with the Queen. Over the course of her life, she came here often for state occasions and national services, and some of the most important moments of her life took place here.
This evening, The King and Queen attended a special viewing of ‘Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style’, ahead of what would have been The late Queen’s 100th birthday.
As the largest exhibition of Her Majesty’s fashion ever staged, more than 200 items of clothing and accessories across all ten decades of The late Queen’s life are on display.
The exhibition also includes never-before-seen archival material such as fashion sketches, fabric samples, and correspondence.
‘Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style’ is available to visit now and will run until 18th October 2026 at The King’s Gallery in London. Find out more on @RCT.
