Bobtail squid are small, adorable cephalopods closely related to cuttlefish. They’re known for their rounded bodies and short arms. Most species grow to only 1–3 inches long. A cool feature is their symbiotic relationship with bioluminescent bacteria (Vibrio fischeri), which help them glow and camouflage under moonlight—called counter-illumination. Bobtail squid bury themselves in sand during the day and come out to hunt at night. They’re found in shallow coastal waters, especially in the Indo-Pacific. Despite their size, they’re smart, sneaky, and surprisingly charming little creatures #squidfacts #squid https://t.co/jv1m3qzm5z
